A leading NHS Trust in Southampton is seeking a Consultant Diagnostic Neuroradiologist for a permanent role. Responsibilities include providing a high-quality diagnostic imaging service and contributing to service development. Consultant Diagnostic Neuroradiologist (DNR) – a permanent contract commencing in the month of ASAP. This post includes a Recruitment and Retention premium of £10,000 for full‑time consultants, subject to participation in the on‑call service – a core requirement of the role. A relocation allowance is also available. For part‑time appointments, the premium will be applied on a pro‑rata basis.
• The 10 PA posts cover all aspects of diagnostic neuroradiology. Subspecialist areas of interest that would particularly complement those of the existing team are paediatric, adult neuro‑oncology, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, neuro‑degeneration, pituitary, spine.
• The Wessex Neurological Centre at Southampton General Hospital is the regional neuroscience unit, providing a dedicated, integrated, 24‑hour acute neurosurgical and neurological assessment, investigation and treatment service to adults and children. University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS NHSFT) also has a designated Level 1 Trauma Centre, a Comprehensive Stroke Centre with provision of a 7‑day mechanical thrombectomy service, and a regional head and neck unit. Stereotactic radiosurgery is provided within the large Oncology unit.
