Job description

We have a fantastic Dermatology Surgeon opportunity in Scunthorpe, as we are looking for a consultant dermatologist surgeon to join our friendly and welcoming Community Dermatologist service, recently rated 'Good' by CQC.

Duties will primarily be based between Cromwell Road (Grimsby) and Ironstone Health Centre (Scunthorpe), delivering full secondary care to patients across our sites.

Main duties of the job

The main responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking minor and enhanced surgical consultations, including full assessments and documenting consultations electronically.
  • Following care pathways for common skin conditions as per national guidelines.
  • Providing treatments within scope, adhering to the dermatology formulary and prescribing restrictions.
  • Offering treatments or surgical procedures within scope, avoiding excluded procedures.
  • Ensuring patients and carers are fully informed, answering questions, and providing written information as needed.
  • Maintaining accurate records, dictating letters to GPs, and reviewing correspondence promptly.
  • Performing surgical procedures only after appropriate training and competency sign-off.
  • Ordering investigations, managing pathology forms, and acting on results, updating GPs and patients accordingly.
  • Collaborating with team members to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
