Consultant Dermatologist - Midlands - Perm or Locum FTC

Triple West Medical is seeking a Consultant Dermatologist for a NHS Trust based in the East of England on a Locum FTC basis.

The Trust is one of the largest in the region with a number of sites with over 11,000 staff and serves a population over 900,000. They are now looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic Consultant Dermatologist as part of their continued development of specialised services.

Brief Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Provision, with Consultant colleagues, of a comprehensive Dermatology service to the NHS Trust and surrounding areas, with responsibility for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness, and the proper functioning of the department.
  2. Responsibility for the continuing care and treatment of patients in your charge and personal performance of clinical duties as agreed in your job plan, allowing for all proper delegation to, and training of your staff.
  3. Provision of cover for your consultant colleagues during reasonable periods of leave, including care of patients and supervision of junior doctors. (A minimum of 6 weeks notice is to be given for all leave requests).
  4. Any responsibility which relates to a special interest.
  5. Responsibility for the professional supervision and management of junior medical staff, carrying out teaching, examination and accreditation duties as required and for contributing to undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing medical education activity, locally and nationally as appropriate.
  6. Participation in the clinical governance arrangements of the Trust and specifically within the Directorate including clinical audit, and research.
  7. Responsibility for implementing the Infection Control Policies as determined by the NHS Trust.
  8. Responsible for compliance with personal continuing medical education requirements with the support of the Trust.
