Job Description:

The advertised post is for a substantive consultant diagnostic radiologist with a subspecialty interest in GI radiology at Barts Health NHS Trust. This role supports the new Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) for Northeast London, which emphasizes Research, Education, and Training for the radiographic team.

We seek a highly enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team of 73 radiologists at The Royal London and St Bartholomew's Hospitals, supporting existing services and training programs. The position will be based at Mile End Hospital, The Royal London Hospital, or St Bartholomew's Hospital, depending on needs and subspecialty interest.

The successful candidate should have completed diagnostic radiology training, be within 6 months of CCT, and have a subspecialty interest in Hepatobiliary or Luminal GI radiology. They will need to obtain ILS training and spend approximately one reporting day per week at Mile End Hospital based on requirements.

Main duties of the job
  • Assist with reporting cross-sectional images from MRI and CT scans at the CDC.
  • Contribute to the high-quality, consultant-led diagnostic imaging service at Barts and The Royal London Hospitals.
  • Support the need for an ILS-trained radiologist at the CDC, especially for contrast administration in case of reactions.
  • Participate in specialist MDTs on a rota with subspecialist colleagues.
  • Join the general on-call service (1 in 20) from home with SPR coverage on-site.
  • Adhere to clinical and quality standards.
  • Communicate effectively and promptly with colleagues, GPs, community services, and healthcare agencies.
  • Promote team and multidisciplinary work.
  • Participate in departmental management and liaise with clinical, academic, and divisional leadership.

Qualifications
