We are looking to recruit a part-time consultant psychiatrist in older adult mental health. The post has become available due to the retirement of the existing post-holder. This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Older Adult CMHT.
The successful candidate will take part in the multi- disciplinary management of community referrals for those with both functional and organic illness.
The successful candidate would also have dedicated time to help shape the strategic developments within the care group across Dorset. There is a strong leadership structure across the organisation with the opportunity for regular input into leadership meetings and developments.
The catchment area is a suburban area of North Bournemouth. There is good opportunity for peer support and robust cross cover. There is good opportunity for peer support and robust cross cover as there are two OPMH consultant colleagues and 2 further SAS OPMH doctors working from the same building.

Main duties of the job

You will take part in the multi-disciplinary management of community referrals for those with both functional and organic illness. There will also be dedicated time within the role for you to help shape the strategic developments within the care group across Dorset. There is a strong leadership structure across the organisation with the opportunity for you to have regular input into leadership meetings and developments, and good opportunity for peer support and robust cross cover.
The post holder may take part in the consultant on-call rota remunerated paid at 3% plus 0.75 APA. The post also attracts 10 days per year of study leave and an annual study leave budget of up to £1000.
Candidates for Consultant posts must also be on the GMC Specialist Register (including via CESR/European Community Rights) or will have a CCT/CESR(CP) date within 6 months of interview.
Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
