We are seeking a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with expertise in Neuropsychology and Paediatrics to join the Proton Beam Therapy (PBT) team as the neuropsychology lead at University College London Hospital. The role involves line management, supervision, protocol development, and leadership within the PBT team.

You will join a dynamic and experienced team committed to research and innovative practices, including systemic, narrative, and solution-focused approaches, alongside a comprehensive groupwork program.

Main duties of the job

Responsibilities include supervising baseline and follow-up neuropsychological assessments, supporting and managing therapy services for children, young people, and families receiving PBT.

You will also serve as the neuropsychological lead for paediatric psychology across UCLH, overseeing neuropsychology services, managing referrals, and providing supervision and training to the wider paediatric psychology team.

The department emphasizes systemic and narrative ideas, with an interest in integrating neuropsychology and systemic practice as part of its vision.

Person Specification
Knowledge and Qualifications
  • Honours degree in psychology or related field, with a Doctorate and/or PhD in clinical psychology (or equivalent for those trained before 1996).
  • Registered Practitioner Psychologist with the HPC.
  • Additional neuropsychological training.
  • Skills in complex psychological assessment, intervention, and management.
  • High-level knowledge of psychological therapies, including systemic therapy.
  • Experience working in paediatric services.
  • Knowledge of research methodologies, design, and data analysis relevant to psychology.
  • Understanding of legislation related to clients and mental health.
Experience
  • Supervising neuropsychological assessments with children and families.
  • Management and line management experience.
  • Working with children with long-term health conditions.
  • Psychological assessment and treatment across various care settings.
  • Teaching, training, and supervision experience.
  • Working with diverse cultural groups and using interpreters.
  • Providing consultation to professionals and non-professionals.

Salary: £82,462 to £93,773 per annum, inclusive of HCAS, pro-rata.
