Introduction

Are you an experienced Psychologist looking to take the next step in your career? If so, join our team at Stanley House in Ledbury, a service for men and women with neurological conditions, including Acquired Brain Injury, progressive neurological conditions, and complex dementias. This is an opportunity to make a positive impact and support some of the most vulnerable people in society.

This position is for one day per week (7.5 hours), providing consultancy to other professionals to deliver goal-oriented care and treatment across the service. You will support cognitive, psychometric, and behavioral assessments on a referral basis. You will be supported by an Assistant Psychologist and become part of a network of psychologists across neurological services and the wider organization.

As a Psychologist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing high-quality specialist psychological interventions on a referral basis.
  • Supervising and supporting the professional development of an Assistant Psychologist.
  • Working therapeutically with clients with complex presentations and conducting assessments using various psychometric and clinical methods.
  • Formulating and implementing plans for psychological interventions.
  • Being professionally and legally responsible for all aspects of psychological practice.
  • Maintaining high standards of care in accordance with HCPC Code of Conduct, professional guidelines, and organizational policies.

Requirements for success:

  • Hold a BPS-recognized psychology degree and Chartered Psychologist status.
  • Registration with the HCPC.
  • Approved supervisor within BPS guidelines.
  • Understanding of evidence-based psychological practice.
  • Experience applying psychological knowledge in neurological services.
  • Experience working with clients with neurocognitive deficits.
  • Research and project experience.

Work environment:

You will work at Stanley House, which offers a multidisciplinary approach to long-term care, providing specialized care and therapeutic interventions. You will collaborate with the team to review residents' needs. The facility offers therapies like Physiotherapy and Art therapy, with input from a Neuropsychiatry Professor and a monthly specialist GP clinic.
