Job description

Job Title: Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
Grade: Consultant
Location: Ipswich, Suffolk
Working Hours: 24 hours per week
Rate: Competitive, to be discussed upon application

We are seeking an enthusiastic Consultant in Child and Adolescent CAMHS Psychiatry (CMHT) to work full-time hours for our NHS client based in Ipswich, Suffolk. This vacancy is available on a locum basis for an immediate start, for a short-term contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert clinical assessments and diagnoses for children and adolescents with complex mental health issues.
  • Lead and oversee the development of treatment plans and therapeutic interventions.
  • Manage and support multidisciplinary teams, ensuring effective collaboration with psychologists, social workers, and nurses.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff and trainees, supporting their professional development.
  • Participate in MDT meetings to discuss patient progress and adjust treatment strategies.
  • Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Full GMC license to practice.
  • Relevant experience in this field.
  • Section 12/RC approval is essential.
  • Approved clinician status is desirable but not required.
