Job summary
Applications are invited for a full-time post of Consultant in Cellular Pathology at The Royal United Hospital Bath NHS Foundation Trust. Although this is a full-time post, applications for candidates wishing to work less than full-time will be considered.

Main duties of the jobThe holder of the post will be a Consultant Cellular Pathologist with (or be willing to develop) a special interest in reporting skin, Head and neck and or breast pathology.
Expression of further areas of specialist reporting interest that complement those of the existing pathologists in the department are welcomed.
We are transitioning to Specialist Reporting. The allocation of work follows the recently published "Best practice recommendations for staffing and workload for cellular pathology - 5th edition" by the Royal College of Pathologist UK. This governs and supports an equitable workload distribution that is sustainable and manageable based on your agreed job plan.
You will be expected to support the relevant cancer MDT/s based on a declaration of specialist interest and EQA participation. A commitment to maintain professional expertise and provision of robust cancer diagnostic turnaround times is expected.
The post will be based at the RUH. The holder will participate in clinical governance (including audit) and undertake administrative duties as required.
