Job description

Job summary

Applications are invited for a Consultant Radiologist to join a friendly and cohesive team of radiologists with diverse expertise in a busy department and a strong record in teaching and training. The applicant would be expected to join the existing radiologists in providing a comprehensive diagnostic radiology service and supporting multidisciplinary meetings. The post-holder will also support the running of services in our main department at St George's Hospital.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will oversee and ensure the provision of high-quality clinical services within the Radiology Department, collaborating with colleagues. Responsibilities include providing a comprehensive diagnostic radiology service (general plain radiography, CT, ultrasound, MRI), leading imaging in chest multidisciplinary meetings, and participating in cardiothoracic and cardiac diagnostic sessions, as well as CT-guided lung biopsies.

The role involves participating in general on-call duties, training, quality improvement activities, and a full-time diagnostic on-call rota (approximately 1:15), with regular weekend working (time off in lieu). Applicants should have the Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists and a CCT in Radiology or equivalent training and experience.
