Job Title:Consultant Cardiologist
Grade:Consultant
Location:West Midlands
Working Hours:Full-time, 10 PAs (with flexibility for part-time applicants)
Salary:£105,504 – £139,882 per annum

Overview
This Trust is seeking a dynamic and committed Consultant Cardiologist to join our expanding team of six cardiologists. This new post supports the development of state-of-the-art services, with future plans for a CMR service. The role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of cardiology services in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

Requirements

  • Full registration and licence to practise with the General Medical Council (GMC)
  • Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Cardiology (or within 6 months of interview)
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications and Fellowship of a Royal College (e.g., FRCP)

Typical Job Plan

A standard job plan includes:

  • 1 day/week dedicated to the new diagnostic centre
  • 1 day/week for sub-specialty activity (e.g., stress echo, myoview, or other interests)
  • 1 in 7 weeks as “Cardiologist of the Week” – focused on inpatient care, ED support, and weekend ward rounds (Saturday and Sunday mornings)
  • Outpatient clinics: Typically 11 follow-ups (telephone) or 3 new + 6 follow-ups (face-to-face)
  • On-call rota: 1 in 7 weekends (Friday–Sunday) and fixed weekday on-call (not prospectively covered)
