CONSULTANT IN CARDIOLOGY
Applications are invited for a full-time substantive position within the Cardiology Team. The successful candidate will join a friendly, enthusiastic, and forward-thinking team, contributing to both acute and elective cardiology services.
The role comprises 10 Programmed Activities (PA's) per week.

The Consultant Cardiologist team provides both acute and elective cardiology services. Responsibilities include covering the Coronary Care Unit during weekdays, conducting morning ward rounds at 08:30 hrs, providing cardiology input for admitted patients, and managing in-patients requiring diagnostic or therapeutic interventions. The team collaborates closely with the Leeds cardiology service. Non-invasive diagnostic services are supported by cardiac technical staff, who also run the pacing clinic. Rapid access chest pain referrals are integrated into outpatient clinics operating on a comprehensive one-stop basis. Facilities for CT coronary angiography, trans-oesophageal echocardiography, and stress echocardiography are well established. The team performs over 100 complex device implantations annually, including ICD, CRT-P, CRT-D, and routine bradycardia devices.
