NHS Scotland invites applications for a Consultant Cardiac Surgeon position at the West of Scotland Heart & Lung Centre. This role requires a subspecialty interest in aortic surgery and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team, focusing on developing advanced cardiac care services.
Applications are invited for a substantive Consultant Cardiac Surgeon position at the West of Scotland Heart & Lung Centre, based at Golden Jubilee University National Hospital (GJUNH). The GJUNH is a high-volume cardiac centre serving 2.6 million people in the west of Scotland, offering a full range of cardiac services and hosting the national cardiac transplantation service for Scotland.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrable subspecialty interest in aortic surgery and will play a key role in developing the aortic surgery program at GJUNH. Additionally, they will collaborate with a team of cardiac surgeons and electrophysiology cardiologists for lead extraction and device procedures.
The role involves outpatient and inpatient activities within a broad multidisciplinary team (MDT) network.
Applicants should hold full GMC registration and be on the Specialist Register or be eligible for admission within 6 months of the interview date.
