CS UK Recruitment Ltd advertises a Consultant Child and Young People Psychiatrist role at a high-security hospital in Surrey. The post involves management of young people aged 18+ detained under the Mental Health Act, with responsibilities including admission assessments, risk management, and leadership of a multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will hold Full GMC Registration with experience in CAMHS Forensic or Eating Disorders preferred, and knowledge of Mental Health Legislation.

Qualifications

• Full GMC Registration (required)
• CAMHS forensic/eating disorders experience desirable
• Approval under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act
• Ability to lead a multidisciplinary team
• In-depth knowledge of Mental Health Legislation

Responsibilities

• Review referrals and determine admission appropriateness
• Conduct admission assessments and manage treatment plans for young people on the unit
• Perform risk assessments and review regularly
• Allocate specialist psychological treatments per individual needs
• Maintain effective liaison with referring teams
• Facilitate CPA review meetings
• Act as Responsible Clinician for young people detained under MHA
• Involvement in quality, inspections and governance processes
