The trust has arrangements with Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford for reconstructive surgery, including microvascular procedures for breast cancer patients, with surgeons operating jointly during hospital visits.
Further plans include adopting new technologies such as intraoperative assessment of sentinel node status using RT-PCR, tomosynthesis, and preoperative localisation of breast lesions with Radio Frequency Tag Insertion. The service is fully digital, supported by the recently updated trust-wide SECTRA PACS, and remains committed to innovation and quality.
