A leading healthcare provider is seeking a Consultant in Radiology responsible for comprehensive breast and general radiology services in Romford. The post holder will participate in clinics and reporting while collaborating with colleagues for MDT meetings. Applicants should have a fellowship from the Royal College of Radiologists and relevant experience. The position offers a competitive salary and a full-time workload.

The post is designed to share the responsibility for the provision of comprehensive breast and general radiology services.
The post holder:
King George Hospital is primary site for Breast Radiology in 'Elm Breast Unit' and provides following services:
Symptomatic One Stop clinics for 14-day Target referrals.
Symptomatic radiology service.
Breast Surgery including reconstructive surgery for symptomatic & screening patients
Oncology service - Oncology Clinics and Chemotherapy service Symptomatic radiology service
MDT meeting
Queen's Hospital -Main services provided are:
Oncology service - Oncology Clinics and Chemotherapy & Radiotherapy service
Pathology services.
In addition, the trust has arrangements with Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford to provide reconstructive surgery (including micro vascular procedures) for breast cancer patients. Breast surgeons from BHRUHT operate in conjunction with plastic surgeons at Broomfield ospital during the Hospital to provide this service.

The Breast service is keen on adoption of new technologies and remaining at the forefront of innovation and quality. The services is fully digital and is supported by the newly updated trust wide SECTRA PACS. The team remains optimistic and enthusiastic despite the current economic climate.

These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week and are providing an extra 94,000 scans a year.
