Job summary

Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust seeks a Consultant Anaesthetist with a major focus on regional anaesthesia for orthopaedic services. The role includes ultrasound-guided nerve blocks and perioperative care across major orthopaedic surgeries.

Applicants should have extensive perioperative experience, be on GMC Specialist Register or near completion of CCT, and be able to contribute to critical care and on-call rotas as required.

Qualifications

• Essential experience in elective and emergency anaesthesia for orthopaedic surgery.
• Independent consultant anaesthetic practice with on-call rota participation.
• Experience in regional and neuraxial anaesthesia for orthopaedics.

Responsibilities

• Provide anaesthesia and peri-operative care for orthopaedic and spinal surgery.
• Participate in pre-, intra-, and post-operative care including on-call duties.
• Train rotating registrars, anaesthetic fellows, nurses and ODPs.
• Assess fitness for surgery in pre-op and supervise nursing colleagues.
