Job description
Overview

Secretarial and administrative support to the Department is provided by 4 Anaesthesia Co-ordinators and two secretaries based in critical care. Each of the 3 Consultant General Anaesthetic posts have varied sub-speciality interests such as Vascular, Neurosurgery, UGI, Gynaeoncology, Trauma/Orthopaedics and Pre-assessment. The Consultant Anaesthetist will provide Anaesthetic services at both Trust sites, Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital. The Consultant Anaesthetist will also provide on call cover for CEPOD Theatres in Hull Royal Infirmary at 1 in 24 with prospective cover.

Responsibilities
  • The Consultant will, in conjunction with colleagues:
    • Provide theatre cover as below.
    • Provide an Anaesthetic Service in accordance with the agreed timetable and subsequent job plan.
    • Provide 1 in 24 on call cover for CEPOD Theatres in Hull Royal Infirmary.
    • Supervise trainee Anaesthetic staff within the Trust.
