Job summary
We are looking for four dynamic consultants who are seeking to work in a complex Tertiary Trauma Centre; the work is challenging but rewarding and the department is a vibrant and supportive one.
We have one post available for a Consultant with an interest in Major Trauma and three posts for Consultants in Neuroanaesthesia.
The Anaesthetic Directorate is ACSA accredited by the Royal College of Anaesthesia and led by a team supporting the perioperative model recommended by the Royal College of Anaesthetists and we provide many tertiary services including, Neurosurgery, Interventional Radiology, Vascular, upper GI, major oncology surgery, maxillo facial, plastics and burns.
The directorate also houses a 34 bedded Critical Care Unit for all of the above specialties. Critical Care has an extensive national research portfolio.
Royal Preston Hospital delivers the Major Trauma Service for Lancashire and South Cumbria.
Lancashire Teaching Hospitals provides Elective and Emergency Secondary and Tertiary Adult Services to a large population of approximately 1.5 million throughout Lancashire and South Cumbria.

As the regional Hospital, we serve a local population of around 390,000 and provide a number of specialised services to around 1.5 million people across Lancashire and South Cumbria. Most of our clinical services are provided on our two hospital sites - Chorley and South Ribble Hospital and Royal Preston Hospital. We also have a specialist mobility and rehabilitation service in Preston, the Broadoaks child development centre in Leyland and we provide dialysis units in various locations in Lancashire.
