Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Tutor to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to helping students succeed academically and develop their skills. This role involves working closely with adults, providing tailored educational support and vocationally focused role requiring current industry knowledge and the ability to translate real-world experience into high-impact lessons.

Duties

  • Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions to students in various subjects.
  • Assess students' learning needs and develop personalised lesson plans to address those needs.
  • Deliver accredited health and safety training tailored to construction site environments.
  • Construction site legislation (HSE, CDM regulations)
  • Deliver both classroom-based and site-based training where appropriate.
  • Assess learners through observation, written work, and practical activities.
  • Develop materials to suit different learning styles and levels.
  • Promote safe practices and professional behaviours.
  • Maintain compliance with awarding body requirements and internal quality standards.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, particularly with Adults.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey information to students.
  • Knowledge of special education practices is a plus.
  • Ability to educate and inspire students while adapting to their individual learning styles.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help learners succeed academically.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or a related field are preferred but not essential.

Essential Requirements:

  • NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent construction-related H&S certification.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working in the construction industry.
  • Teaching qualification (PTLLS, AET, or equivalent) or willingness to work toward one.
  • Sound knowledge of UK health & safety regulations (Health and Safety at Work Act, etc.).
