Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain is seeking a permanent personal tutor within the Skills Academy to support Construction students. The role focuses on delivering tutorial sessions, building relationships and using college systems to track progress. 29.6 hours per week, term-time only over 40 weeks, with occasional evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and maths at grade C/4 or equivalent.
• Level 3 qualification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tutorial sessions supporting personal development, wellbeing and progression.
• Build positive relationships with students and help them stay on track.
• Monitor progress, engagement and support needs using college systems.
• Identify concerns early and put interventions in place.
• Support students to overcome barriers to learning and engagement.
• Work with curriculum teams and support services so students get the right help.
• Support students to explore progression routes, including further study, apprenticeships, employment and higher education.
• Help students build confidence, employability skills and positive learning habits.
• Maintain accurate records of support, actions and follow-up.
• Work with parents, carers and colleagues where appropriate.
