Are you an experienced Site Manager looking for a new opportunity?

Would you like to join a reputable regional Contractor?

Thatcher Associates are currently working with an established Building Contractor to identify a driven and experienced Site Manager to join their Bristol team. Initially you will be overseeing a refurbishment project in the value of £2 million future projects include both refurbishment and newbuild projects up to the value of £10 million with future within various sectors including education, leisure and health-care.

The Role

Typically projects are a predominantly new builds with some refurbishment schemes, the initial project will be a new build project based near Bristol, future projects will be located in Somerset, Bristol or Wiltshire.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and estimating for budgets and timescales;
  • Contribute to work planning, and brief project teams, contractors and suppliers;
  • Passing any extra work to be done within set timescales;
  • Supply information to resolve disputes if they arise;
  • Identify areas of concern and finding solutions for existing contracting processes;
  • Overseeing health and safety is being implemented to appropriate standards.
  • Manage the on site management team and oversee sub-contractors.

Skills

  • You will have demonstrable experience leading, motivating a multi-skilled trade’s team together;
  • Able to think outside the box and to react quickly to issues that need resolving;
  • A good organisational skill set;
  • Being able to deliver quality to timescales required;
  • A good knowledge and understanding of construction and issues such as building regulations and planning;
  • Commercial awareness and an ability to establish and maintain good working relationships;
  • Ability to work both on your own and as part of a team;
  • A culture of continuous improvement to support.

Essential Requirements

  • SMSTS;
  • CSCS CARD;
  • First Aid Card;
  • HNC/ HND or construction degree or equivalent qualification or other recognized construction qualifications
  • Ideally currently working for a large building contractor looking to work for an established regional building contractor and looking to make a move in to an environment where you can quickly progress your career.
  • Some leisure, education or health-care project experience preferable but not essential.
  • Proven experience running your own projects of at least £8 million in value
  • Exposure to new build projects and various complex schemes
  • Extensive knowledge of health and safety and rick management on site
