Senior Associate - Construction (5+ PQE) - Top 100 Firm in Bath

The Opportunity

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an experienced and ambitious Senior Associate (5+ PQE) to join a growing and dynamic Construction team within a highly regarded national firm. This firm has an exceptional reputation for its work in the Education, Charity, and Business sectors and offers an excellent platform for career growth and professional development.

The team has experienced significant investment and expansion, making it an exciting time to join and contribute to its continued success. The role will be based in Bath, with the possibility of working from one of the firm's other nationwide offices. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on high-calibre, non-contentious construction matters, particularly within the Education sector, in collaboration with a Tier 1 ranked team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a diverse caseload of non-contentious and contentious construction matters, working closely with a prestigious client base.
  • Collaborate with and support more junior members of the team, providing supervision as required.
  • Develop and foster strong relationships with new and existing clients, ensuring a high standard of service delivery.
  • Play an active role in business development and marketing initiatives, including attending seminars, networking events, and presenting workshops.
  • Work in a collegiate and collaborative way within the team and across the firm.


Requirements
Essential:

  • A qualified Solicitor or Barrister with 5+ PQE and strong experience in non-contentious and contentious construction matters (those with purely non-contentious experience will also be considered).
  • Previous experience supervising or mentoring junior team members.
  • A commercial mindset with a keen interest in business development and client engagement.
  • Strong technical ability and a commitment to delivering excellent client service.

Desirable:

  • Additional qualifications in construction law or membership of relevant professional bodies (MRICS, MCIOB, etc.).
  • Experience within the Education, Charity, or Public Sector funding arenas.
  • Qualifications in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), such as arbitration or adjudication, would be advantageous.
