Job Summary
The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for implementing the company safety program for Forcine Concrete & Construction Co Inc., and its affiliates. A successful candidate in this role must have a strong work ethic and great communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Visit different job sites regularly.
- Conduct regular safety inspections on construction sites, identify potential hazards, and ensure OSHA compliance.
- Participate in safety training sessions and help educate team members on proper procedures, equipment usage, and emergency protocols.
- Conduct safety audits to evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and identify areas for improvement.
- Maintain professional relationships with employees and management to facilitate the correction of safety issues.
- Respond to workplace accidents, create reports, participate in investigations, and contribute to corrective actions, in collaboration with the Safety Director.
- Ensure OSHA compliance across all trades.
- Participate in safety committee meetings, review safety concerns, and document procedures to address issues.
- Attend safety seminars and training to stay updated on OSHA regulations.
- Attend and lead job-site meetings with employees and clients as needed.
- Maintain composure and professionalism during emergency situations.
- Consider industry regulations and specific job site risks to ensure safety in coordination with the Safety Director.
- Promote safety awareness and educate others on workplace health and safety practices.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of concrete construction and safety experience.
- Motivated with a strong work ethic.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to teach safety standards effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
Other Requirements:
- Experience in developing, implementing, and enforcing safety training programs.
- Strong organizational skills and task prioritization.
- Experience maintaining accurate safety records and incident reports.
- Ability to drive on construction sites and walk on rough terrain.
- Ability to take effective jobsite photos and notes.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Some travel required.
