Job summary

Matchtech Group seeks a commercially minded Project Manager for major energy infrastructure projects in the UK. You will liaise with local authorities, utility providers, contractors, and suppliers, managing budgets, programmes and EPC contracts to ensure timely delivery.

The role requires 5+ years in construction/infrastructure, PMP/PRINCE2/APM, health and safety qualifications, and a full UK driving licence. A driving license is essential for site access and stakeholder coordination.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in project management within construction, infrastructure, renewable energy, or related sectors.
  • Proven experience delivering utility-scale energy or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong contract management and commercial negotiation experience, including industry-standard contract frameworks.
  • Recognised Project Management qualification (PMP, PRINCE2, APM, or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation and construction regulations.
  • Relevant health and safety qualifications (NEBOSH, IOSH, SMSTS, or equivalent).
  • Experience managing EPC contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Proficiency with project management and reporting software, including Microsoft Office and similar project-planning tools.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with internal project teams to ensure regulatory and planning requirements are met.
  • Manage tendering processes and contract negotiations for engineering, procurement, construction, and infrastructure-related scopes.
  • Oversee contractor performance throughout construction and commissioning phases.
  • Take ownership of project budgets, programmes, and delivery schedules.
  • Identify and manage project risks and opportunities.
  • Provide regular progress updates and reporting to senior management.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with health, safety, quality, and environmental requirements.

Desirable Experience

  • Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering background.
  • Experience delivering projects from development through to commissioning.
