Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager to join the Directorate Department, to support delivery of the Next Generation Infrastructure programme, which will redevelop the John Innes Centre and Sainsbury Laboratory estate.

Background: The Programme Management Office (PMO) within John Innes Centre (JIC) is established to deliver the Next Generation Infrastructure (NGI) programme of work involving various physical and soft projects, and business change/improvement activities across JIC and The Sainsbury Laboratory (TSL). The impact will primarily be across JIC and TSL who are joint principal stakeholders responsible for delivering the shared benefits.

The programme has received funding in excess of £300m from UKRI Biotechnical & Biological Sciences Research Council (UKRI BBSRC) along with other grants from John Innes Foundation, University of East Anglia, Gatsby Foundation and Wolfson Trust.

Responsibilities
  • The Project Manager will be responsible for the delivery of their owner discreet workload as well as supporting the Senior Project Manager/s with the delivery of construction projects within the NGI programme.
  • This appointment will also contribute towards the Programme Office vision of developing as a professionally organised and appropriately resourced department that directly supports and contributes to the delivery of the JIC-TSL NGI strategic aims and objectives.
Qualifications and Experience
  • The post holder will be educated to degree level in a construction related discipline or equivalent experience in a professional environment.
  • It is desirable if the post holder understands and has delivered projects with a recognised management framework, such as RICS, CIOB, Agile Foundation, PRINCE2 Foundation, or transferrable skillset.
  • Essential knowledge of Microsoft Project, Asta, Visio and other project management related software and tools as well as MS Office packages.
  • Experience of working in construction projects and an understanding of the construction process is essential.
Remuneration

£44,500 - £49,300 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.
