The job itself

The award-winning East Riding of Yorkshire Building Design Team is a busy, well-established, multi-disciplinary practice embedded within the Local Authority. We currently have an opportunity for a Construction Project Manager, to join the Project Management section on a permanent basis.

This position would ideally suit a candidate who is looking to step up to the next level or an existing clerk of works looking for a new challenge. Due to the seniority of this position, you'll need recent extensive experience and preferably be working towards a relevant qualification

The applicant will work within the Project Management team representing the team on day-to-day construction site matters, attendance at site meetings, inspecting works and reporting on progress. Other duties will include preparing project defect schedules, witnessing, verification and recording of the correct construction processes, ensuring the relevant documentation in respect of the scheme, and commissioning and demonstration of building, in close liaison with the Project Management and Architects teams.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a construction-based site supervision service for the Council on a variety of projects and works ensuring the necessary compliance, and levels of quality in line with the prescribed design information whilst also having an extensive knowledge of health and safety and good practice which they can apply to the management of a site.

The position may also involve a client facing role and so good communication skills and experience at presenting is a must. You will also be working within a team with a multi-disciplinary aspect, so evidence of problem solving and co-operative working experience would be desirable.
