Job summary

Apex M&E Solutions is recruiting a Construction Project Manager to lead healthcare projects in the Yorkshire region, including hospital environments and NHS estates works. You will oversee live sites, manage teams and ensure infection control and HTM/HBN compliance throughout pre-construction to handover.

The role requires a proven track record in hospital construction (£1m–£3m), SMSTS, CSCS and a valid first aid certificate, plus a UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Essential: proven track record of hospital/healthcare construction projects valued between £1m and £3m.
• Experience working in live healthcare environments with HTMs/HBNs and infection control procedures.
• SMSTS qualification, valid CSCS card and first aid qualification.
• Construction-related qualification (HNC/HND or degree) desirable.
• Excellent leadership, planning and client communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from pre-construction through to handover, delivering on time, on budget and to a high standard of quality.
• Act as the main point of contact for NHS trusts, estates teams and other stakeholders.
• Plan and phase works in occupied, live hospital environments.
• Manage site teams, subcontractors and the supply chain.
• Take responsibility for health and safety, RAMS, CDM compliance and infection control (HTM/HBN requirements).
• Monitor programme, cost and change, working alongside the commercial team.
• Oversee quality, commissioning, handover and O&M documentation.

Our client is a well-established, award-winning mechanical, electrical and construction contractor. It often operates as principal contractor and has the in-house capability to design, build and maintain projects from start to finish. Much of its work is repeat business with long-standing public sector clients, particularly within the NHS. Following continued growth, the company has recently opened a new regional office covering Yorkshire. This is a newly created position, giving you a real opportunity to help shape and grow the regional operation from an early stage.

The Role

As Construction Project Manager, you will lead healthcare projects valued between £1m and £3m across the Yorkshire region. Many will be delivered in live hospital environments, where careful phasing, infection control and keeping clinical services running are critical. As an early member of the regional team, you’ll also play an important part in building client relationships and establishing the company’s reputation in the area.
