Job description

Pegasus Group is offering a unique opportunity for a construction procurement (non-contentious) construction solicitor with a minimum of 1 years’ experience (gained in private practice or in-house) to join our in-house Group Legal team. The successful candidate will have a good grounding in construction law, and report to the Chief Legal Officer and Senior Legal Counsel.Pegasus Group has offices across the UK and offers a flexible hybrid working model. This role accommodates both remote working and in-office attendance at either our Birmingham or Lichfield locations. This role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to develop their career / make the move in-house from private practice.

Duties will include:

As a key member of the in-house legal team you will provide legal advice to the business on a variety of documents associated with a multi-disciplinary consultancy practice working across all sectors for a variety of clients:

  • Advise the business on procurement (non-contentious) construction matters.
  • Draft, negotiate and complete construction documents including terms of appointments, framework agreements and call offs, collateral warranties, reliance letters, third party rights and subconsultant terms of appointment.
  • Develop a template bank of construction documents
  • Maintain strong relationships within the business.
  • Conduct legal research into relevant laws and regulations, utilising external software.
  • Active involvement within business strategy and development.
  • Support the Chief Legal Office / Senior Legal Counsel in delivery of projects and the provision of timely and pragmatic legal advice generally.

Desired Skills and Experience:

Construction procurement (non-contentious) Solicitor with experience essential, gained in private practice or in-house:

  • PQE 1-3 years.
  • Authorised to practice in England.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have good level of technical competence, relative to PQE.
  • Highly organised, commercially minded and able to work effectively in teams.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills.
