Job summary

Forces Recruitment Solutions Ltd. is seeking a Planner for a construction/engineering project in the United Kingdom.

The role involves creating, maintaining and updating programmes, supporting project teams with schedules, updates and forecasts, and ensuring milestones and dependencies are tracked accurately. Candidates should have strong MS Project skills, a solid grasp of project delivery, and the ability to analyse and report on progress.

Qualifications

• Relevant planning experience in the construction, engineering or infrastructure sector.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project, including logic links, baselines and progress updates.
• Good understanding of project delivery, programme management and construction sequencing.
• Experience producing and updating project programmes, identifying critical paths and monitoring progress.
• Good analytical and reporting skills.
• Clear communication with project teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to organise programme updates and meet deadlines across allocated projects.
• Eligible for, or holding, UK Security Clearance (SC / DV).
• Desirable: defence/security environment experience.
• Desirable: tender and bid programme support.
• Desirable: NEC contract knowledge.
• Desirable: APM/CIOB membership or similar.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain project programmes.
• Identify and review critical path activities, milestones and dependencies.
• Support recovery and mitigation plans for delays or risks.
• Prepare tender and bid programmes with colleagues.
• Translate construction methods and delivery sequences.
• Identify schedule risks, assumptions and constraints during bid development.
• Provide programme information for tender submissions and attend discussions.
• Maintain programme reporting per standards and templates.
• Produce concise progress updates and milestone trackers.
• Check programme logic and progress information for inconsistencies.
• Support programme risk reviews and dependencies.
• Act as planning contact for allocated projects and escalate major issues.
• Support programme review meetings.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and supply chain on programme matters.
• Provide updates and support managers in presenting performance and recovery proposals to clients.
