Construction Planner required to work with this busy Berkshire based regional main contractor with a healthy spread of work in the Berkshire, Hampshire, Oxfordshire and Surrey areas.

Based between the office and projects, you will work with the preconstruction teams to produce tender and logistics programmes for bids and second stage preconstruction, plus carry out regular progress checks and provide support to the project teams on site.

You will work closely with Project Teams in producing detailed planning for key phases of work on schemes, review progress of works against programme, update and reprogram phases of work where necessary, review progress toward key milestones and key handover dates, etc.

Knowledge and understanding of construction processes, technical aspects of design and practical buildability, with the ability to construct a programme of works is essential, as is a good working knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Project and Asta Powerproject.

Working with the preconstruction and project teams you will be likely to have input to 2-3 schemes at a time, working between office and site visits.

Projects are typically new build and refurbishment projects ranging from £5m to £15m in the education, residential, commercial, retirement living and leisure sectors.

Ideally from an Engineering and Site Management background with a main contractor, you will possess good communication skills, planning and problem solving ability, in depth technical knowledge with thorough attention to detail, and a positive, ‘get it right first time’ approach.

The ability to effectively program construction activities for projects at tender, preconstruction and live construction phase with the practical site experience to support this is the key function.
