Job summary

APPLE TECHNICAL RECRUITMENT (UK) LIMITED seeks a Construction Planner in Cambridge to lead tender and pre-construction planning for high-value schemes. You will work closely with pre-construction and senior project leads to shape programmes and bid planning, ensuring seamless integration with design and construction teams.

The role requires experience with Tier 1 or major Tier 2 construction contractors and strong knowledge of ASTA Powerproject for 4D scheduling.

Qualifications

• Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Quantity Surveying (or equivalent relevant qualification/experience).
• ASTA Powerproject software expertise.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for tender and pre-construction planning.
• Liaise with operational teams on progress control, strategic scheduling, and 4D programming, engaging with clients, contractors and stakeholders.

Company & Project:

A leading Tier 1 Main Contractor operating in the Commercial, Education, Life Sciences and Major Mixed-Use sectors across Cambridgeshire and surrounding counties.

The business is looking to recruit a new Planner to join their established Planning team, working across complex site programming and major bid tender planning.

The successful individual will be working closely with the pre-construction team and senior project leads on high-value schemes. The executive leadership team is well respected, long-standing, and noted for driving industry innovation while prioritising collaborative culture and work-life balance for all employees.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• The successful candidate will take responsibility for tender and pre-construction planning.
• Liaising closely with operational teams managing progress control, strategic scheduling, and 4D programming, while engaging directly with high-profile clients, trade contractors, and stakeholders.

Desirable Experience:

• Demonstrable experience with a Tier 1 or major Tier 2 Main Contractor in Planning.
• Good working knowledge of ASTA Powerproject
• Previous experience working on large-scale New Build commercial, education or science schemes ( 20m+) would be highly advantageous for this position.
• Previous Roles: Assistant Planning Manager OR Senior Planner OR Project Planner OR Tender Planner OR Lead Planner OR Site Planner.
