Job Description

This position is responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Heavy equipment may include, but is not limited to, front-end loaders, dozers, graders, rollers, and excavators.

  • $24 - $30 per hour starting wage.

  • Ability to work flexible schedules and out-of-town overnight stays.
  • $55 per hour per diem when out of town.

Company-sponsored CDL Program available for eligible employees.

Qualifications

Principal Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Operate all heavy equipment safely and efficiently according to relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
  • Interact with construction laborers and crew members to facilitate equipment alignment, movement, and adjustments to meet grade specifications.
  • Interact courteously and respectfully with the public; report any complaints.
  • Clean heavy equipment as scheduled or required.
  • Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored.
  • Participate in routine maintenance.
  • Practice workplace safety.
  • Maintain inventory.
  • Ensure access to houses and locations.
  • Use equipment to level roads and ensure proper drainage.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • 1-2 years of experience with construction tools and equipment such as air hammers, concrete saws, scaffolding, trench digging equipment, etc.
  • Knowledge of operating front-end loaders, dozers, graders, excavators, and other heavy equipment.
  • Knowledge of road construction and maintenance techniques.
  • Knowledge of signals used to communicate with machinery operators.
  • Knowledge of equipment cleaning standards and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of the Oil and Gas Industry.
  • Ability to keep proprietary information confidential.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and manuals.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work with diverse groups.
  • Ability to work various schedules, including nights, weekends, and regional travel.
