Job summary

SALT Training Limited is seeking an experienced Construction NVQ Assessor to support the launch and development of our new Construction NVQ provision.

You will assess and support learners undertaking Construction NVQs and apprenticeships, working closely with learners and employers to support progress and timely achievement. You will also help develop course content, assessment resources and structured learner journeys.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or 3 NVQ in Carpentry, Bricklaying or Multi-Skills.
• TAQA Assessor qualification, or willingness to work towards one.
• IQA qualification, or willingness to work towards one.
• Experience in construction and NVQ/apprenticeship provision.
• Experience using Smart Assessor/e-portfolio systems.
• Desirable teaching qualifications (AET/CET/DET) and cross-trade experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess learners using a range of methods including observations, discussions, questioning and products of work.
• Plan learner reviews, workplace visits and progress monitoring.
• Provide feedback and coaching to achieve occupational competence within deadlines.
• Support launch and development of SALT Training Limited's Construction NVQ provision.
• Develop course content, assessment materials and learner resources.
• Map learner evidence to qualification requirements.
• Maintain accurate learner records using Smart Assessor.
• Work with employers to identify suitable workplace evidence and opportunities.
• Monitor progress and support learners at risk of falling behind.
• Participate in standardisation, quality assurance and continuous improvement.
• Work flexibly to support growth of apprenticeship and workplace construction provision.
