Job summary

Glanua in the United Kingdom seeks a Mechanical Project Engineer to deliver innovative MEICA solutions for municipal water and wastewater projects. You will design, develop, and implement mechanical systems from design through to completion, collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

You will lead mechanical design, coordinate with civil, process, electrical, ICA and H&S disciplines, manage equipment procurement, site surveys, feasibility studies, and tender pricing while ensuring compliance

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a team in the delivery of one or more projects at any one time, embracing the ethos of a “one team” culture.
  • Take a leading role in the mechanical design and system integration for water and wastewater treatment projects, overseeing all stages including site surveys, feasibility studies, detailed design, and tender pricing.
  • Work closely with civil, process, electrical, ICA, and H&S teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems into the overall project.
  • Provide technical guidance and coordination with internal and external design and project delivery teams.
  • Manage the selection and procurement of mechanical equipment (e.g., pumps, valves, tanks, pipework) and materials, ensuring compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and project specifications.
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors to ensure that their mechanical work aligns with project objectives, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor the progress of mechanical work, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure safety and compliance with established standards.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships from project commencement through to close‑out, providing technical support, updates, and advice throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of health, safety, quality, and environmental procedures in line with Glanua and client‑defined standards.
  • Prepare detailed project plans, reports, and status updates for clients and internal stakeholders, highlighting key milestones, risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Participate in project review meetings and incorporate lessons learned into future projects, contributing to process improvements across the company.

As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will deliver innovative and technically challenging mechanical engineering solutions for a diverse portfolio of MEICA (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, and Automation) and Civil works. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design, develop, and implement mechanical systems for municipal water and wastewater projects.
