Job summary

Testronix Ltd in Carlisle invites applications for a Construction Materials Technician Apprentice (Level 3). You will support sampling and testing of concrete, aggregates, soils and asphalt, both on-site and in the laboratory, while working toward your Level 3 qualification.

Working with the team, you will learn recognised testing methods, record results accurately, and ensure samples are properly identified and traceable.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in Level 3 Construction Materials Technician apprenticeship.
• Gaining hands-on experience in sampling and testing.
• Working on-site and in laboratory settings.

Responsibilities

• Sample and test construction materials including concrete, aggregates, soils and asphalt.
• Carry out testing on construction sites (occasionally in the lab too).
• Follow recognised testing methods, procedures and industry standards.
• Accurately record test results and complete testing documentation.
• Make sure samples are correctly identified and traceable throughout the testing process.
• Use specialist laboratory and testing equipment safely and correctly.
• Identify and report equipment faults or maintenance requirements.
• Follow quality, health & safety and environmental procedures.
• Travel to customer sites and work in different environments.
• Communicate professionally with customers, site teams and colleagues.
• Keep laboratory and working areas clean, organised and safe.
• Support the wider laboratory team with day-to-day activities.
