Location: Essex

Compensation: £18,800.00 per year

Eurovia Infrastructure Limited is a global contracting and production business specializing in surfacing, bitumen, and asphalt manufacturing for the highway, commercial, and airfield sectors. With over 40 years of experience, we focus on providing services that meet community needs and support local businesses through a 'vertically integrated' and partnering approach. We operate nationally across various UK surfacing contracts and are a major producer of bitumen and asphalt in the South East of England. We are committed to a circular economy, incorporating recycling and sustainable materials to reduce environmental impact.

The Package

  • Starting salary of £18,800 per year (increasing to National Minimum/Living wage after 12 months if applicable)
  • Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
  • 40 Hours per week
  • 26 days annual leave, plus bank holidays

What will I be doing as an apprentice?

We are seeking a motivated Level 3 Materials Laboratory Technician to support our team in delivering high-quality testing services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sampling and testing aggregate, sands, raw materials, and bituminous materials at required frequencies.
  • Monitoring analysis trends and taking preventative actions to maintain quality and performance.
  • Reporting product failures and non-conformities to management.
  • Providing technical support to internal departments and customers within guidelines.
  • Inputting data and operating laboratory computer systems.
  • Conducting preliminary complaint investigations.
  • Maintaining laboratory environment and test equipment calibration.

How does the apprenticeship work?

Over 21 months, you will dedicate at least 6 hours per week to 'off-the-job' training, including virtual lessons, shadowing, mentoring, and assignments, culminating in a Level 3 Laboratory Technician apprenticeship. You will be mentored by experts from Tiro and Eurovia, gaining practical experience and skills while earning a salary, avoiding student debt.
