Job summary

Consto Group Limited is seeking a Buyer to manage materials purchasing across up to two sites, reporting to the Senior Buyer. You will oversee procurement, place orders with Group National Suppliers, and ensure cost and quality targets are met.

The role requires NVQ 4 or higher, strong numeracy, and excellent IT and communication skills. You will attend site and team meetings, check drawings for spec compliance, and produce cost schedules and reports to support timely valuations.

Qualifications

• Experience working for a house builder or similar construction contractor.
• Numerate and able to interpret data to inform budgets.
• Strong IT skills and comfort with standard commercial software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare procurement duties and exercises.
• Schedule and place material and plant orders with suppliers.
• Check drawings for discrepancies and ensure correct specifications.
• Produce material cost schedules and budgets with cost codes.
• Attend internal meetings and site meetings as required.
• Resolve invoice queries with Accounts.
