Job Title: Construction Manager (Mechanical & Electrical Bias) - Aviation

Location: Manchester Airport (Full-time onsite, 5 days/week)

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Duration: 6 months (with potential for extension)

Rate: Up to £64.22 per hour (Inside IR35, via Umbrella PAYE)

Role Overview:

We're seeking an experienced Construction Manager with a Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) bias to oversee capital projects at Manchester Airport. The role involves managing M&E aspects throughout all project stages, ensuring safety, quality, and adherence to schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide construction management oversight for M&E components of airport capital projects.
2. Collaborate closely with Project Managers to support the successful delivery of the Capital Plan.
3. Act as the on-site M&E lead, ensuring contractor activities are safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible.
4. Monitor progress through site inspections and reviews against contract documentation and project timelines.
5. Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, subcontractors, and internal teams.
6. Champion a "safety-first" culture while meeting quality, cost, schedule, and sustainability targets.
7. Ensure all works comply with health and safety legislation, airport operational constraints, and industry best practices.

Requirements:

• Proven experience managing Mechanical & Electrical systems, especially in substations and runway cabling.
• Strong understanding of NEC contracts.
• Experience in aviation is advantageous but not essential.
• NEC Supervisor or Clerk of Works experience is beneficial.
• Must be eligible for and obtain an Airside Pass (employment subject to clearance).
