NES Fircroft is excited to partner with a leading Construction industry company on their Energy Transition journey, supporting the development of a Clean Energy project in Wales.

The client is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join the project on a contract basis. The role involves working Monday to Friday on-site full-time. Successful candidates will receive competitive day rates and have the opportunity to contribute to a flagship project advancing the UK's clean energy industry.

Position Description

The Construction Manager (CM) will oversee the construction phase of the project, managing all site activities including those of the EPCM Contractor, Works Package Contractors, and suppliers. The CM will provide leadership to ensure the project progresses safely, on time, within budget, and meets quality standards. Responsibilities include:

• Delivering safety and quality objectives
• Conducting and reviewing constructability studies
• Establishing site policies, procedures, and administration
• Ensuring safety programs comply with Heidelberg Materials requirements and regulations
• Overseeing construction activities to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards
• Monitoring construction performance
• Advising on schedule adherence and mitigating delays
• Planning site activities
• Preparing progress reports
• Creating as-built drawings and records
• Managing interfaces with all construction-related third parties

Accountabilities

The CM is accountable for:

• Ensuring HSSE controls are adhered to across the project by all personnel and contractors
• Collaborating with the EPCM construction management team
• Developing and implementing the construction management plan
• Managing and controlling all construction activities with a multidisciplinary team

Experience Required

The ideal candidate will have at least 15 years of relevant experience managing large capital projects in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or energy sectors. Specific experience includes:

• Leading high-value EPC/EPCM construction projects
• Managing construction teams on major projects
• Strong knowledge of construction management principles
• Establishing onshore construction site requirements
• Initiating construction with subcontractors
• Championing safety during construction
• Supporting construction through completion, testing, start-up, and handover
• Overseeing commissioning and start-up processes
• Demonstrating leadership and team management skills
• Excellent communication skills with high energy and commitment
• A proactive, problem-solving attitude
