Job summary

Reed Specialist Recruitment is seeking a Construction Manager to oversee a significant decarbonisation project at a local hospital in Preston. This contract role runs until the end of March 2028 and requires extensive CDM site management experience.

The ideal candidate will be local and possess a Black CSCS card, NVQ Level 6 in Construction Management (or equivalent), and a Temporary Works Supervisor qualification, or willingness to undertake a two‑day course provided by the company.

• Five+ years' CDM site management experience.
• Black CSCS card holder.
• NVQ Level 6 in Construction Management or equivalent.
• Temporary Works Supervisor qualification or willingness to undertake course.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines, costs and quality.

Construction Manager

Annual Salary: Up to £70,000

Location: Preston

Job Type: Contract (until end of March 2028)

Working Hours: 5 days per week

We are seeking a Construction Manager to oversee a significant decarbonisation project at a local hospital in Preston. This contract position will run until the end of March 2028. The ideal candidate will be local to the area and possess extensive experience in CDM site management.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Oversee the daily operations on the construction site.
• Ensure all construction activities comply with legal and health and safety standards.
• Supervise staff and provide guidance and feedback to construction workers.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and other professional staff.
• Ensure all deadlines, cost targets, and quality standards are met.
• Maintain records of construction activities and prepare reports on progress.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum of five years' experience in CDM site management.
• Black CSCS card holder.
• NVQ Level 6 in Construction Management or equivalent.
• Temporary Works Supervisor qualification, or willingness to undertake a two-day course provided by the company.
• Strong leadership and personnel management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
