Job Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Manager (CM) to oversee all aspects of works on. The CM will ensure compliance with HSE guidance and CDM regulations, while implementing company SHEQ policies and procedures across the site. Reporting to the Project Manager or, depending on project size, the Operations Manager/Director, the CM will manage site activities, the supply chain, health & safety standards, quality of works, and overall site organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead site operations to deliver the project safely, on time, and to high quality standards.
  • Implement and monitor company SHEQ policies and procedures on site.
  • Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, HSE guidance, and method statements/risk assessments.
  • Conduct and record site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
  • Manage subcontractors, ensuring quality, safety, and programme compliance.
  • Oversee plant, equipment, and materials to ensure correct use and record keeping.
  • Maintain accurate records for site attendance, inspections, and progress reporting.
  • Ensure effective pedestrian and traffic management systems.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
  • Mentor, manage, and develop site staff, ensuring clear communication and maximising output.
  • Contribute to tender and pre-construction planning, logistics, and programmes as required.
  • Ensure the site is well organised, safe, and presents a professional image at all times.
Candidate Profile
  • Proven experience as a Construction Manager on large-scale projects (£20m+ preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of HSE guidance, CDM regulations, and SHEQ policies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and programmes (Asta Powerproject experience desirable).
