Job Description:

Company: OXBO is working with a leading UK-based, multi-technology (Solar/BESS/Wind) renewable energy IPP to add a Technical Site Manager to their team in London.

The successful candidate will oversee the quality, technical, and commissioning aspects of construction across multiple sites. Responsibilities include technical follow-up of subcontractors, quality control, compliance, commissioning, testing, and inspection. The role combines administrative, managerial, and technical on-field work.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise construction activities in collaboration with the site manager.
• Manage resources, including materials and equipment.
• Inspect work, identify defects, and ensure corrective actions.
• Coordinate with quality inspectors and engineers for compliance.
• Monitor project progress and schedules.
• Serve as the primary technical contact on-site.
• Report progress, issues, and changes to the project team.
• Ensure compliance with local codes, regulations, and contractual obligations.
• Oversee commissioning and testing of solar farms and ensure handover to O&M.

Requirements:

• Degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, or civil) or proven experience.
• Health & safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, SMSTS) are highly valued.
• Additional certifications such as SAP-33KV, 18th Edition, Test Engineer, Jointer certification are advantageous.
• Strong understanding of renewable energy systems, grid integration, solar PV systems, and BESS technology.
• Experience in commissioning and managing solar PV and BESS projects.
• Site and contractor management skills, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Experience working with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies (DNOs, IDNOs).
• Leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
