Job summary

Taylor Root in London is seeking a Legal Counsel – Construction to join its in-house team supporting a fast-growing Construction/Capital Projects division in the London Area.

Requires minimum 2 years PQE with strong background in construction contracts, ability to advise on disputes, TUPE, data protection, competition law and IP in a commercial setting. You will draft and negotiate contracts and manage project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years post‑qualification experience (PQE).
• Extensive experience advising on construction projects and commercial contracts.
• Strong knowledge of NEC and JCT standard form contracts.
• Familiarity with TUPE, data protection, competition law and intellectual property in a commercial context.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal support throughout the full lifecycle of construction projects and commercial transactions.
• Advise on and negotiate construction and commercial agreements.
• Draft, review and maintain standard contract documentation and precedents.
• Manage disputes involving customers, contractors and suppliers, including oversight of external counsel.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments and advise on business impact.
• Collaborate with Operations, Commercial, Procurement, People, Tax, IT, Health & Safety and Compliance functions.
