Your role:
The Construction Lead UK & Ireland will be responsible for a team of Construction Project Managers. While each department's scope is limited to its specific function, the Construction Lead's duty is to collect information flow and integrate it into the project phases, from design to realization and commissioning.
Main responsibilities:
- Coordinate and lead the Project Managers (2 internal staff + various external local consultants) operating in the UK & Ireland region for EssilorLuxottica brands, including David Clulow, Sunglass Hut, Ray-Ban, Oakley, Vision Express, and John Lewis Opticians. The total retail network in UK & Ireland exceeds 700 stores.
- Oversee planning, detailed design, and construction engineering for Luxottica brand retail stores in the UK & Ireland region.
- Undertake construction engineering design on new and remodel projects with support from local consultants.
- Select local consultants and permit expeditors suitable for each project, sourced from the corporate vendor list of Luxottica's procurement department.
- Manage relations with local authorities, malls, airports, outlet centers, and department stores involved in the projects.
- Prepare reports, specifications, and technical analyses to fully define design requirements, equipment, and services needed.
- Provide technical direction within engineering design, building layouts, details, schedules, and materials.
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables; create schedules and timelines; assign tasks and resources.
- Manage budgets, allocate resources, and collaborate with designers, R&D managers, consultants, and local stakeholders.
- Lead quality assurance efforts.
- Monitor and report project progress, track deliverables.
- Share progress reports, issues, and solutions with stakeholders.
- Implement and manage process changes as needed to meet updated objectives.
- Evaluate and assess project results.
Main requirements:
- Successful delivery of retail stores, meeting deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Construction budget evaluation, control, and scheduling.
- Quality of execution and snag completion after store opening.
- Effective communication of construction constraints and achievements to markets and stakeholders.
- Network of interaction: INTERNAL: Construction, Property-Real Estate, Logistics, Procurement, Planning, Finance, Administration departments. EXTERNAL: General Contractors, Local Consultants, Permit Expeditors, Material Suppliers (IT, Digital, TCV, Sound, etc.), Landlord representatives.
