Job Description:

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a senior construction lawyer specialist to take on a high-impact, strategic role as Knowledge Counsel within the London office of a prestigious global law firm. This position sits at the heart of a globally renowned Construction & Engineering team, offering the chance to shape knowledge strategy, enhance client delivery, and support the development of legal talent across a top-tier international platform.

Why Apply?

  • Play a strategic role in one of the most respected global construction law practices, influencing how knowledge is created and shared.
  • Earn a highly competitive six-figure salary with strong benefits in a values-driven international firm.
  • Enjoy flexible working and a supportive, collaborative environment that champions innovation and excellence.
  • Engage with cutting-edge legal work on landmark infrastructure and engineering projects around the world.

The Construction Knowledge Counsel will lead the team’s knowledge initiatives, from managing legal updates and precedent development to delivering training and producing thought leadership. You’ll collaborate closely with partners, fee-earners, and global knowledge professionals to ensure the team remains at the forefront of legal and commercial insight. You’ll also work with innovation, BD, and legal tech teams to support efficiencies and forward-thinking solutions for both internal and client-facing projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and implement the knowledge strategy in line with team and firm goals
  • Draft, maintain and improve standard forms, precedents, and practical guidance materials
  • Track legal and regulatory developments and communicate key implications
  • Deliver legal training programmes at all levels and support learning initiatives
  • Lead the creation of client alerts, thought leadership and market commentary
  • Support innovation and legal tech adoption to drive internal efficiencies and client value
  • Collaborate across practice groups and regions to share best practices and align resources
  • Act as a senior legal resource and advisor within the team, supporting both lawyers and client delivery

Who This Suits

This role is suited to a qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with 10+ years’ post-qualification experience in construction law. You may be an existing PSL/Knowledge Lawyer seeking a fresh challenge in a more strategic, global setting—or a senior fee-earner with a strong track record in training, knowledge initiatives, and legal development. Expertise in standard construction forms, excellent drafting and communication skills, and a collaborative, commercially-minded outlook are key.

Whether you are an experienced senior Knowledge Lawyer seeking a step up or lateral move into a more global, strategic role—or a senior construction fee-earner ready to dedicate yourself fully to knowledge leadership—this is a rare opportunity. You’ll sit at the centre of one of the world’s top construction practices, helping shape its future through expert knowledge management, training, and innovation. If you’re passionate about legal excellence and want to make a meaningful impact across a high-profile international platform, this role offers the perfect next step.
