Job summary

Hill McGlynn Recruitment Limited is seeking a proactive Health & Safety Advisor / HSEQ Advisor to join their construction team on a Potters Bar-based role. You will monitor and enforce HSEQ policies across live projects, conduct site inspections, audits and risk assessments, and promote a positive safety culture with operational teams.

Reporting to the HSEQ Director, the successful candidate will have NEBOSH Construction or equivalent (advantageous) and a proactive, practical approach to drive

Qualifications

• Experience as Health & Safety Advisor or HSEQ Advisor in construction.
• Experience conducting site inspections and audits on live projects.
• Strong knowledge of current H&S legislation in construction.
• Ability to implement policies and drive improvements across sites.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the implementation of HSEQ policies across live projects.
• Carry out site inspections and HSEQ audits.
• Record, report and follow up on findings from inspections and audits.
• Identify non-compliance and implement corrective actions with project teams.
• Provide practical Health & Safety guidance to project and site teams.
• Engage with operational teams to drive HSEQ improvements.
• Support company-wide HSEQ initiatives and campaigns.
• Promote a positive Health & Safety culture across the business.
• Monitor site activities for compliance with legislation and project requirements.
• Assist with risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.
• Support incident investigations and follow-up actions.
• Monitor trends and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support toolbox talks and HSEQ communications with teams.
• Liaise with subcontractors to maintain HSEQ standards.
• Prepare reports for the HSEQ Director and maintain records.
