Job Description

Salary: Circa £60,000 - £68,000 per annum plus car / allowance and package

Location: London, Stansted, Birmingham areas with site travel / hybrid working

Company / Role Information: A leading civil engineering and infrastructure company is seeking a Health & Safety Manager to oversee projects within their Aviation team. The role covers multiple projects, including Heathrow, Stansted, and Birmingham, with travel and accommodation provided where needed. Reporting to the Head of HSQE, the manager will develop a positive health & safety culture focused on accident prevention and improving safety on-site.

Person Specification
  • Strong construction background with experience in similar roles, including concrete pavements, asphalt, and airport civils/construction
  • Experience as Supervisor/Manager on similar sites
  • NEBOSH General certification
  • CSCS card holder
  • Qualified internal health & safety auditor with experience in internal audits
  • Lead Auditor status is beneficial but not essential
  • Understanding of BS OHSAS 18001:2007 standards and experience with registration surveillance
  • Knowledge of current and upcoming health & safety legislation
  • Good presentation, written, analytical, and IT skills
  • Training and presentation experience at all organizational levels
  • Interpersonal skills to guide and educate/train others
  • Self-confidence to build strong relationships internally and externally
Role Responsibilities
  • Provide support and guidance to manage health & safety effectively, aligning with HSQES policies and standards
  • Represent the client regarding H&S contractual issues
  • Ensure proper reporting and investigation of all incidents and near-misses
  • Manage Health & Safety advisors as Line Manager
