Job summary

JHR Recruitment is seeking a Construction Health & Safety Manager or Site Manager with a strong H&S background for a portfolio of ten London-area sites. The role is self-employed CIS, part-time with a 2/3 day pattern per week.

You will conduct audits and inspections, identify hazards, and provide practical feedback to site teams, while managing audit reports and travel between sites across London and surrounding counties.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH General Certificate is essential.
• NEBOSH Construction Certificate or NVQ Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety is a plus.
• Experience as Construction Health & Safety Manager or Site Manager with strong H&S focus.
• Willing to travel across London and the home counties.
• Full UK driving license.

Rate: £300 per day, CIS

Contract type: Self-employed (CIS) | Part-time, alternating 2 days one week and 3 days the following week

The Company

A health and safety consultancy is looking for an experienced Construction Health & Safety Manager or Site Manager with a strong health and safety background. You will carry out site audits and inspections across a portfolio of ten construction sites in London and the surrounding counties.

The Role

You will conduct health and safety audits and inspections across the ten sites, working a rolling pattern of 2 days one week and 3 days the following week. This role suits a construction H&S Manager, or a Site Manager with strong H&S knowledge, looking for flexible part-time or portfolio‑style work.

Key responsibilities

• Carrying out health and safety audits and inspections across ten construction sites in London and the surrounding counties
• Identifying hazards and non-compliance, and giving clear, practical feedback to site teams
• Producing audit reports and tracking corrective actions to close‑out
• Advising site management on best practice and regulatory compliance
• Managing your own diary, site schedule and travel between sites

About You

• NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum) essential
• Additional H&S qualifications, such as NEBOSH Construction Certificate or NVQ Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, an advantage
• Background as a Construction Health & Safety Manager, or a Site Manager with a strong H&S focus
• Based in or around London and the home counties, and happy to travel between sites
• Comfortable working independently
• Strong communication and report‑writing skills
• Full UK driving licence
