Job summary

BW: Workplace Experts is seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to join our team in England. You will support the Health and Safety Manager and Director to ensure compliance across the business, deliver guidance, training and ongoing improvements.

You'll lead site audits, advise on CDM 2015 requirements, and promote a strong safety culture among employees and subcontractors. The role requires strong communication, independent working and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• 5 years experience in construction as a minimum.
• Practical understanding of CDM 2015.
• Good communication, organisation and influencing skills.
• Able to work proactively, independently and confidently.
• Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills to resolve daily operational and safety challenges.

Responsibilities

• Provide health and safety guidance to staff across all areas of the business.
• Support and train staff on BW health and safety policies and procedures.
• Work with the Health and Safety Manager and Director to promote best practice.
• Assist as a point of contact for health and safety enquiries on projects.
• Maintain policies and ensure compliance with current legislation.
• Ensure training and development of project teams is up to date.
• Carry out regular health and safety audits and inspections.
• Assist with investigations and ensure accurate reporting and lessons learnt.
• Safeguard health, safety and welfare of employees, contractors and operatives.
• Promote a positive safety culture and challenge unsafe behaviour.
• Liaise with HSE and local enforcement, attending workshops as needed.
• Encourage sub-contractors to adopt BW safety initiatives.
• Keep up to date with industry standards and complete required training.
• Act as point of contact with the client and attend regular meetings.
• Chair health and safety meetings on site.
• Support the site team and site management as required.
